Old Maruti Ciaz production ends – 2018 Maruti Ciaz launch on 6th August

Maruti Suzuki India has ended production of the current Ciaz sedan. The car which registered average sales of 5,000 units a month, has registered sales of just 1,579 units last month.

This is not because of decline in demand. But because of the fact that Maruti Suzuki India has stopped production of old Ciaz and thereby they are not being shipped to dealers. Starting this month, Maruti Suzuki has started the full-fledged production of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift.

To be launched on 6th August, the new Ciaz is currently being transported to Maruti’s premium Nexa dealers across India. Some dealers have already started taking bookings for new Ciaz. booking amount is in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 depending on the dealership.

2018 Ciaz will be seen with updated exteriors and revised interiors. On the outside, will be new grille in the front, with updated headlight cluster, housing automatic projector headlamps and LED DRLs. The bumper design also has been updated to give the car a more sportier look. On the sides you will get more or less the same design, with new 15 inch alloys and 185/55 section tyres. Highlight at the rear is its new LED taillight.

On the inside, you will see faux wood treatment, giving the car a premium feel. The faux wood inserts will be seen on the dashboard, steering wheel and on the door. On the center of the dashboard will be Maruti’s new SmartPlay infotainment system with connectivity options via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB.

One of the most spacious sedan in the segment, 2018 Maruti Ciaz will continue to excel in passenger comfort with best in class rear legroom and headroom. Speaking about safety, it will get dual front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX mounts at the rear as standard.

Powering the new Maruti Ciaz will be a new petrol 1.5 liter engine. This engine has been specially developed for the Indian market and the first car to get it is the 2018 Ciaz in India. The 1.5 liter petrol engine will deliver 104 PS and 138 Nm.

Diesel engine option will be same as today – Fiat sourced 1.3 liter engine delivering 90 PS and 200 Nm. Transmission options on offer will be automatic as well as manual. Expect price to be in the range of Rs 8-12 lakhs, ex-showroom.
