The Meru fleet will be Ozone sanitized for safe delivery and will work according to Government guidelines
With deliveries of day to day essentials and groceries becoming a major issue during this lockdown period, Flipkart has come to the rescue of its customers with home deliveries. For this, the company has entered into an alliance with Meru, the tech-enabled ride-hailing service in India to offer home deliveries across cities of Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Hyderabad.
Each Meru cab will be sanitized prior to use and have been installed with ‘Ozone Air Purifiers” at dispatch hubs from where each driver will sanitize their cabs prior to delivery.

This initiative taken by Flipkart not only ensures that the customers are provided with daily essentials and grocers at their door steps but also gives Meru driver partners a source of income during this time when all else has come to a standstill across the country.
Flipkart will be running a training module for Meru driver partners so that they are well versed with the process of safe and timely home deliveries. On the other hand, Meru will ensure that all preventive and sanitization methods are followed with use of alcohol based sanitizers and will be providing face masks to all their drivers so as to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The government of India has laid down certain standards that have to be followed where these deliveries are concerned. Besides the new sanitization norms, each employee of Flipkart and Meru drivers have to download the Aarogya Setu app. The e-commerce warehouse should be fumigated and all vehicles should be thoroughly cleaned.
Each delivery person should carry a company ID card and bags used for deliveries should be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected before leaving the warehouse. Cash on delivery options should also be discouraged as far as possible irrespective of the value of the order.
