Rimac Concept_ONE and Concept_S – 2016 Geneva Motor Show LIVE

Rimac Concept_One

Rimac Concept_One is being showcased at the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Though it has the word concept in its name, it is actually the production ready spec of Rimac’s first ever sportscar. (Rimac is a Croatian startup company).

Only 8 units of the Concept_One will be produced ever. It is powered by four permanent magnet electric motors, one for each wheel, which deliver a total output of 1,088 PS and 1,600 Nm. The entire amount of 1,600 Nm torque is available from 0 rpm.
Making Rimac Concept_One unique are the four gearboxes with a single speed transmission for each of the two motors in the front, and DCT two speed carbon fiber units for each of the rear motors. The powertrain and transmission system is designed in such a way that it delivers 1000 kW or 1MW power during acceleration.

Speaking about numbers, Concept_One does 0-100 kmph in just 2.6 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 355 kmph. Price is not revealed, but it is expected to be in the range of $875,000.

Rimac Conept_S

Rimac Conept_S is a mean and more powerful than the Concept_One in every sense possible. It is also powered by an electric powertrain that delivers 1,384 hp power and 1,800 NM torque.

It is claimed by Rimac, that the Concept_S can reach from 0-100 Kmph in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 Kmph in 5.6 seconds and 0-300 Kmph in 13.1 seconds with a top speed of 365 kmph.

As we can see, this car is aimed at more power than energy storage. However, it still holds a good 82 kWhs. The battery can be charged either by a 22 kW onboard AC charger or via a DC Combo connection at up to 120 kWs.

One can choose from a number of different performance settings, be it cool and calm or to an all-out drift mode.
