Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV envisioned through new renderings

Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV rendering front

The luxury SUV is likely to be underpinned by a new aluminium architecture.

The Bentley Bentayga may have created a highly exclusive and lucrative super luxury SUV segment but it won’t be enjoying the monopoly for long. Rival and compatriot Rolls Royce too is working on an SUV which is expected to be out in 2018. Rendering artist Remco Meulendijk has envisioned the Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV (codename) by means of these speculative renderings.

The stately SUV will no doubt be upholding the British marque’s design tradition so its safe to assume that it will don a massive chrome radiator grille complete with the quintessential Spirit of Ecstasy above it. The rendering also envisions LED headlamps, rugged looking bumper and silver color scheme for the bonnet like the Ghost could very well be close to the actual design.

The Rolls Royce Cullinan is expected to be powered by an improved version of the Phantom’s 6.8-litre V12 petrol motor.

Despite being a SUV, the Cullinan’s lower half of the profile could be pretty close to that of the Phantom as portrayed by the renderings. A well accentuated waistline blacked out pillars and a sleek greenhouse would add to the SUV’s luxury quotient. Familiar triangular LED headlamps and twin exhaust tips could round off the exterior design. Like any other Rolls, the Cullinan will pamper its occupants with its opulence. Customers specify bespoke options from the virtually limitless options.

The Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV is expected to be based on a new aluminium space frame architecture which could be used for future products from the brand. The existing 6.8-litre V8 is expected to do the propulsion duty with some enhancements. There could also be a hybrid version. Expect the high riding Roller to out number the Bentayga’s 608 PS.
