Royal Enfield Pegasus Classic 500 owner shares letter sent by dealer – Offers detailed

Royal Enfield Pegasus owners feel betrayed by the company. They are of the opinion that the company sold them an exclusive bike at a premium price and within a few weeks of sale, made the bike un-exclusive by launching a similar looking bike.

This led to several owners coming out together and protesting. Some owners went and dropped their bike at the dealership. Some decided to place the bike in garbage dump and click photos, and so on. This protests finally got Royal Enfield’s attention and they introduced a few offers via their dealers. Below is one such letter sent out by a RE dealer to a Pegasus 500 owner:

Hi Pegasus customer.
Hope you are doing well!
As a valuable customer of the Pegasus motorcycle I would like to reinforce my commitment to our relationship by offering the following:

1. Any repair or service arising out of manufacturing defect or material defect will be attended to at no additional cost to you for a period of 1 year or 10,000 kms. This is in addition to the 2 years new vehicle warranty that you are entitled to. This will come into effect from the date of expiry of the original vehicle warranty i.e. 2 years or 30,000 kms from the date of sale, whichever is earlier. The detailed terms and conditions are similar to that of the original vehicle warranty which is detailed out in the owner’s manual provided to you.  

2. 02 extra free services i.e. 01 service each at 12 months or 12,000 kms& 15 months or 15,000 kms whichever is earlier from the date of sale of the vehicle respectively wherein labor will be provided at no additional cost to you. The operations to be performed are given in the owner’s manual under 5th & 6th paid service.

3. We will send you an additional service brown Pegasus helmet of your size with the trademark number logo “70”.
