Skoda Kushaq will be offered in three variants and two engine options, while the base-spec trim will be offered with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit only
After huge anticipation, Skoda finally took the covers off from its upcoming compact mid-size SUV named Kushaq. As we already know, Kushaq has been designed and engineered in India for the world although there is still some time before we can actually get our hands to it.
The new SUV from the Czech carmaker has been developed under Volkswagen-Skoda Group’s India 2.0 programme and will rival other C-segment compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This story will highlight the features offered in Kushaq as its segment competitors are known for their heavily loaded equipment in the Indian market.
Exterior Features
Skoda will be offering Kushaq in three trims- Active, Ambition and Style. There are quite a few standard features across the entire range but Ambition and Style trims have a fair bit of gizmos to make the crossover a premium offering.
Starting with its exterior features, it gets a full LED lighting setup which includes LED headlamps, LED DRLs and LED taillights. The L-shaped DRLs integrated into the headlamp clusters surely look stunning. Take a look at the official video below, of new Skoda Kushaq.
It will be offered in five metallic paint schemes namely Honey Orange, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, and Candy White. The top-spec Style trim rolls on 17-inch Atlas two-tone alloys while the rest two trims ride on 16-inchers. Other exterior feature highlights include a single pane electric sunroof and silver-finished roof rails which seem functional.
Interior Creature Comforts
Inside the cabin, the list of features in the crossover is exhaustive. Buyers get two options of touchscreen infotainment display to choose from- a 7-inch screen or a 10-inch screen. Both units come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and enable smartphone integration via SmartLink technology. The larger unit is available in top two trims and comes with SKODA Connect services, in-built Navigation and also provides Wifi connectivity through Hotspot.
Kushaq gets an in-house developed six-speaker stereo system as standard with- two separate tweeters and bass speakers in the front and two two-way speakers in the rear. In addition, the top-spec Style trim also gets a separate amplifier and a subwoofer that is located in the spare wheel well. Other feature highlights inside the cabin include auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, touch controls for climate control, ambient lighting, cruise control and much more.
Safety Features
Not only creature comforts but Kushaq offers a decently equipped safety kit which offers features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, three-point seat belts for all occupants and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across the range. Higher trims provide additional safety techs such as six airbags, Hill Hold Control, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and headlamps, tyre pressure monitor, rear-view camera and front parking sensors.
