Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition has been re-launched in India after a gap of more than a year. Available at a starting price of Rs 11.16 Lakh (ex-showroom), Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition pays tribute to the company’s significant achievements in motorsport over the years. It will have petrol and diesel engine options and offer both manual and automatic transmission.
The first model in India to be offered under the Monte Carlo marque after the losing naming rights to Monte Carlo garments, the premium sedan sports a striking Flash Red colour. Coupled with black-coloured signature elements, Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition features a unique style and makes an aggressive stance.
Key exterior features include signature butterfly grille in black, LED DRLs, quartz-cut projector headlamps with chrome garnish, gloss black ORVMs, R16 dual-tone alloy wheels, black roof rail, black tailgate spoiler, black sporty diffuser, and MONTE CARLO badge on B-pillar.
Interiors have a premium, sporty look and feel and are designed to highlight Skoda’s success in motorsport. Cabin is all-black, which looks slick in combination with red, white and grey accents on the upholstery. Other key features include leather wrapped Super Sport flat bottom steering wheel and gear knob with red stitching, piano black accents on trim centre and AC vents, stainless steel foot pedals, amberglow footwell illumination, cooled glove box and rear parking camera. Interiors are spacious and come with comfortable front and rear seats. There’s automatic climate control, dual-adjustable rear vents, height and length adjustable multi-function steering wheel, power windows, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, and handy waste bin.
Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo offers 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine option. Petrol engine makes 105 PS at 5200 – 5250 rpm and 153 Nm at 3750 – 3800 rpm. It is mated to 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Diesel engine delivers 110 PS at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm at 1500-2500 rpm. It is mated to 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG, automatic transmission.
Key safety features include dual-airbags, ABS, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control, rear parking sensors, engine immobilizer, anti-theft alarm, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror, and one-touch anti-pinch windows.
