Suzuki has just launched the new and much awaited Burgman Street 125 scooter in India. It is priced at Rs 68,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. Already on display at Suzuki dealerships across India, it is set to take on the Honda Activa, which, on date is the best selling scooter in the country.
Suzuki Burgman 125 borrows inspiration from the larger 650cc Burgman maxi scooter. It is the first of its kind scooter in India in recent years. Shown at 2018 Auto Expo first, buzz among buyers was always there. Thanks to test ride bikes which have already arrived at dealers, there has been encouraging booking orders. Some dealers are already quoting 2 month waiting period.
2018 Burgman 125 gets LED head and tail lamps and spacious underseat storage. It features a bold front apron, multi function key slot, a 12V charging socket and is the first Suzuki scooter in here to sport a fully digital console.
Being positioned as a premium offering, Burgman Street 125 gets 12 inch alloys in the front and 10 in ch at the rear – fitted with tubeless tyres. It also gets a comfortable seat, which is long and wide enough for both, rider and pillion. It sports telescopic fork in the front and monoshock at the rear, and comes in with Combined Braking System (CBS).
In terms of dimensions, Burgman Street 125 measures 1,880mm in length, 1,140mm in height and 675mm in width. It gets ground clearance of 160mm and kerb weight of 110 kgs, while wheelbase is at 1,265mm. Fuel tank capacity is at 5.6 litres.
Suzuki Burgman 125 is powered by the same engine seen on Access 125, and tweaked for better performance. This 124cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine is capable of 8.5 bhp power at 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm with CVT transmission returning fuel efficiency of around 45-50 kmpl.
Suzuki Burgman Street will compete against the likes of Honda Activa 125, Honda Grazia, Vespa 150 and Aprilia SR 150.
