The new Suzuki Burgman Street made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year. A few days back, the scooter was officially launched in India. Manufactured by Suzuki at their plant in India, the made in India scooter is also planned for exports. At the time of launch, this was revealed by Suzuki India management.
With India launch done, and the scooter enjoying a good demand here (2 months waiting), it is now heading to other country. Ahead of next month’s GIIAS (Indonesia Auto Show), it has now been revealed that the Suzuki Burgman 125 will be on display there. It is being reported that that the Burgman 125 on display at GIIAS will be made in India variant. India could export the Burgman 125 CKD units to Indonesia
Burgman 125 is an indigenously developed premium scooter for markets like India. The new Burgman Street will be seen with an 125cc engine. It is a maxi scooter with bulky stance, 12” front and 10″ rear wheels and a host of onboard features. It gets a telescopic front suspension with front disc brakes, rear twin shocks and a large windscreen. It also receives sufficient underseat storage with large storage compartments. Under seat storage is at 21.5 liters.
Of the two compartments in the front, one of these compartments is lockable while the other is push open. It also sports a 12V DC outlet for charging of electronic devices, tubeless tyres measuring 90/90-12 in front and 90/100-10 at the rear, fully digital instrument cluster and an LED tail lamp.
Fuel tank capacity stands at 5.6 liters. Seat is wide and comfortable with a step between rider and pillion pads. Other features on offer are LED headlights, digital instrument cluster, front disc brake, CBS, aluminium pillion footrest, etc.
Engine specifications on the new Burgman Street include a 124.3cc engine which is the same as that powering the Access 125. This engine is capable of 8.6 hp power at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm torque at 5,000rpm. It has a CVT transmission. In India, the scooter rivals the likes of Honda Activa 125.
