Ahead of global debut of the new Suzuki GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 (respective facelifts of Gixxer SF and the Gixxer in India), various details have been leaked.
As per Indonesian media, Suzuki GSX-R150 which could be called the 2017 Suzuki GSX150R on launch, will be strikingly different from the India-spec Suzuki Gixxer SF. It will sport a more angular format. It gets a higher stance with a three element headlamp design along with an elevated tank. Spyshots reveal a new instrument cluster with digital display in landscape arrangement. Stopping power comes from disc brakes both at the front and rear, same as the current setup in Indian Gixxer twins.
Suzuki 2017 GSX-R150 will be offered in color options of Metallic Triton Blue, Solid Black and Brilliant White. It promises easy start feature with ABS as standard along with best power to weight ratio and torque to weight ratio. Suzuki claims to offer best in class performance and mileage figures.
The fully faired Suzuki GSX-150R will be powered by a 155cc engine also seen on the Suzuki Gixxer and Suzuki Gixxer SF, tweaked to offer higher power while being mated to a 6 speed transmission. Design is largely inspired from the recently introduced Suzuki R125 (see image gallery below).
Suzuki GSX-S150 naked bike will follow the same designs as seen on the Gixxer 155, with some design updates inspired from the GSX-S750. It receives split seats positioned higher, adding to height while it also gets a sharp fuel tank and cowl along with a digital instrument console and headlamp extensions. The Suzuki GSX-S150 is powered by a 155cc single cylinder engine also seen on the Gixxer on sale in India.
