The 14th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition being held from 20th to 23rd October 2016 has the new Suzuki DL250 (V-Strom 250) quarter liter tourer concept on display.
Showcased as a concept bike but set to enter production, Suzuki V-Strom 250 sports a 248cc DOHC twin cylinder, liquid cooled engine generating 25 PS peak power at 8,000 rpm and 23.4 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. Suzuki claims that the engine is tuned to allow better performance and high fuel efficiency.
Purpose built as an entry level adventure bike, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 gets distinctive V-Strom badging and rugged bodywork. It receives alloy wheels and telescopic suspension in the front while headlight gains a spherical design while other on board features include a conventional fork and single front brake caliper along with ABS.
The Suzuki V-Strom measures 2085mm in length, 740mm in width and 1110mm in height. It sits on a 1430mm wheelbase and has seat height of 790mm. Dry weight stands at 178 kgs while it sports a fuel tank with 15 liter capacity.
Many players have entered this entry level touring motorcycle segment. In India, Royal Enfield Himalayan is one such model in this segment while other bike makers such as KTM (Duke 390 Adventure), BMW Motorrad (G 310GS) and Kawasaki (Versys 250) also plans of launching a motorcycle in the quarter liter arena.
More details of the Suzuki V-Strom 250 will be offered when it goes on display at the EICMA motorcycle show from 10-13 November at Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy.
