GVM Tank 300 Cyber Knight: Rugged Ladder-Frame SUV with Special Edition Appeal- 2.0L petrol engine, 223 bhp of power, 387 Nm of torque
GWM’s (Great Wall Motors), Tank brand has introduced a new variant of its 300 SUV. It is Tank 300 Cyber Knight and the company intends to only make 7000 units of these. Tank is limiting the first batch of pre-sale to just 5,000 units. Pre-sale price is between CNY 330,000 and CNY 350,000. Today’s currency exchange points to a price between Rs. 39 lakh and Rs. 41.39 lakh.
Tank 300 Cyber Knight is a special edition version of Cyber Tank 300, which is in turn a special edition version of Tank 300. Glossing over Christopher Nolan’s Inception-like variant hierarchy, Cyber Knight has a lot to like. It is a rugged ladder-frame SUV. It looks tough and has a lot of road presence. Especially in the Black shade Tank is offering.
Tank 300 Cyber Knight: Ready to Battle Traffic and Terrain
Chinese MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) revealed images of this ladder frame SUV some time ago. It measures 4681 mm long, 1967 mm wide and 1954 mm tall. Wheelbase is 2750mm long. Standard Tank 300 sits below Tank 500 and costs between CNY 195,800 and CNY 230,000 (Rs. 23.15 lakh and Rs. 27.20 lakh).
Being a Tank, which is a premium off-road SUV brand of GWM, the 300 soon rose to fame. Cyber Tank 300 took that appeal to a whole new level with its wide-body package. Tank intends to create even more buzz with 300 Cyber Knight. It has a completely blacked-out sports kit with either Blue or Orange packs.
The company targets a young audience with an adventure-oriented lifestyle with this vehicle. Choice between Blue or Orange packs unlocks a host of exterior and interior changes. These contrasting colours are present on brake calipers, front grille, and side running boards. Tank offers Blue or Orange winglets on its roof as well.
These colours play a significant role on the inside. Tank 300 Cyber Knight has leather upholstery, finished in either Blue or Orange. These highlight colours can be seen on its 3-spoke steering wheel, door trims, dashboard, center console and seats. Two large horizontal displays form instrumentation and infotainment panels. There is a digital compass too, flanked by two circular AC vents.
Tank 300 Cyber Knight: Power, Precision, and Unmatched Style
Tank 300 Cyber Knight gets roof rails, a sunroof and a carbon fiber spoiler. A spoiler on an SUV like this reminds me of the character DJ in Disney’s Cars movie franchise. Matrix-styled LED Tail lights, circular LED headlights with wide LED DRL light bar along with Y-shaped lighting bits in front and rear bumpers are notable elements. Also, there is a squarish panel at the back which is less likely to be its spare wheel cover.
A 2.0L petrol motor is what powers Tank 300 Cyber Knight. This engine churns out 223 bhp of power and 387 Nm of torque and is equipped with a sole 8-speed automatic transmission. If you’re wondering whether you can buy this vehicle in India one day, don’t hold your breath.
