Following last week’s build up to naming Tata Motors Altroz premium urban car unveiled as 45X concept at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, today the company finally confirmed the name. The next gen Tata Altroz premium urban car production version will be on display at Geneva Motor Show 2019 next week.
Tata says Altroz is inspired Albatross seabird. Akin to Albatross characteristics, Altroz is designed to soar over competition in the segment with its agility, speed, efficiency, performance and in-cabin space. It is being projected as a segment offering with class leading features.

Tata Altroz is built on new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. It focuses on lightweight, modular and flexible characteristics. As a platform, ALFA architecture is capable of evoluting into a range of modern and youthful vehicles in a short development cycle. Built within the IMPACT 2.0 design language scope, Altroz reinvents urban car design for Tata Motors by pairing connectivity tech and everyday mobility at a new level.
Tata Altroz will be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. Though the details are not yet confirmed, reports suggest that the engine options could be same as we have seen on board the Nexon. These are 1.2 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel. On board the Nexon, both these engines deliver 110 PS power. They are mated to 6 speed MT as well as AMT.
Tata Motors also announces the digital footprint of the brand ‘ALTROZ’. Consumers can follow the journey of the ‘ALTROZ’ from the 45X Concept to its commercial launch on the dedicated brand Instagram handle @TataAltrozOfficial, on the Tata Motors Facebook page (@TataMotorsGroup )and Twitter handles (@TataMotors). Once launched, Altroz will compete with Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 in the segment. It will be offered in a similar price range as its rivals, which is from Rs 5.5 lakhs to Rs 8.5 lakhs.
