Tata Motors, having experienced muted sales through the month of May 2019, has introduced discount schemes across its Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Hexa models. Sales in May 2019 dipped 26 percent to 40,155 units as against 54,290 units sold in May 2018.
Tata Tiago hatchback, offered in eight variants: XE, XM, XM, XT, XT (O), XZ and XZ+, gets discounts through the month of June 2019. Buyers of the Tata Tiago XE, XM, XT and XZ petrol variants get benefits on insurance upto Rs.33,000 with first year insurance at Rs.4,000 and an additional Rs.10,000 exchange bonus. Tiago XZ+ petrol variant is on offer through the month of June 2019 at Rs.10,000 cash discount and Rs.25,000 exchange bonus. There are no discounts on the Tata Tiago JTP.
Tata Tigor, the sub 4 meter sedan, has seen sales dip as much as 80- 90 percent over the period April and May 2019. Sales which stood at 520 units in April dipped to 306 units in May. There is a Tigor facelift in the making scheduled to be launched later this year.
The Tata Tigor petrol, which sees more demand over its diesel engine counterpart is being offered at a cash discount of Rs.25,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs.25,000 through the current month. As is seen in the case of the Tata Tiago JTP, the Tigor JTP is also not a part of this discount scheme.
Tata Nexon, the 5 star safety rated sub compact SUV petrol and diesel variants are being discounted through the month of June 2019. The petrol variant gets a Rs.15,000 exchange bonus while the Nexon diesel variant is being offered with a Rs.15,000 cash discount and Rs.20,000 exchange bonus.
The Tata Nexon facelift is in the making with launch date scheduled for later this year. The Nexon competes with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Ford EcoSport and also with the recently launched Hyundai Venue.
Tata Motors having recently updated its current flagship Hexa model with a new set of exterior and interior upgrades is offering this SUV at a cash discount of Rs.25,000 and Rs.25,000 exchange bonus through June 2019. The updated Hexa now starts at Rs. 14.38 lakhs for the XM trim while the top end Hexa XT 4X4 now costs Rs 18.36 lakhs.
There is no discount offered on the Tata Harrier which commands a 2 month waiting period.
