This is Tata Motors’ 21st showing at the Geneva Motor Show and an impressive lineup has been readied. These will include the H7X Buzzard SUV, Altroz, Altroz EV and the Hornbill micro H2X SUV concept.
New Tata Hornbill H2X concept has debuted as H2X sub-compact SUV. Seen at the Geneva Motor Show, it’s most likely going to be seen in production format at the 2020 Auto Expo early next year. It is the company offering in the micro SUV segment, slotted below Nexon, and set to compete against the Mahindra KUV100 and Maruti Ignis.
Tata H2X mini SUV concept Hornbill is seen dominated by LED DRLs, tri arrow pattern on the front bumper and it commands a more upright stance as compared to the Nexon. Based on Tata Impact design 2.0 language, other exterior features could also include a floating roofline, larger wheel arches and wheels along with the Tata’s signature Humanity Line front grille while it will see added ground clearance.
Interiors of the Tata H2X mini SUV concept will see features among which will be electric power steering, height adjustable driver’s seat and a new ConnectNext infotainment system with large touchscreen infotainment system. It will also be seen with new safety features among which will be rear parking sensors and steering mounted controls with tilt adjustment. With new safety regulations set by Bharat New Vehicle Safety Program coming into effect, Tata Hornbill will comply with these regulations with ABS, EBD, dual airbags, cornering stability program, rear defogger, auto dimming IRVMs and follow-me-home lights.
Engine specifications on the Tata H2X mini SUV concept will most likely include a 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05 litre, 3 cylinder Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine will offer 85 bhp power and 114 Nm torque while the latter will be capable of 70 bhp power and 140 Nm torque with both engines getting mated to a 5 speed manual or AMT.
With the Tata H2X mini SUV positioned between the Tiago and Nexon, a price range from Rs.4.5-7.5 lakhs is what can be expected. More details will be revealed closer to launch. Take a look at detailed photos below.
