Tata Hexa SUV has entered production at the company plant in Pune. With bookings set to start from next month, the car is expected to be launched in January 2017.
Seen above is the fully loaded variant which is equipped with foglights, projector headlamps, LED DRL strips, alloy wheels, roofrails, airbags, ABS with EDB, Harman touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, powered ORVMs and so on.
Though the car has entered production, Tata Motors continues to test the Hexa on public roads. A camouflaged Tata Hexa base variant has been spotted by one of our readers, Rushikesh Jagtap. This particular variant makes do without the fog lamps and bumper mounted LED strips.
The test mule appears to be sporting the finalized aesthetic package. Compared to the top-end variant, this one lacks glossy finish for the grill and secondary air dam.
Built on a hydroformed ladder-frame chassis, the Hexa is powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine which is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox to produce 154 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The SUV will be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. Tata will also introduce a 6-speed AT variant along with MT variant.

The Tata Hexa will be looking to pick up a fight with the Mahindra XUV500 and lower variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta upon launch.
