Tata Hexa is a new SUV from Tata, which will sit above the Aria in the company line-up. Launch was earlier expected to take place in November 2016.

Tata Motors will commence media promotion of Hexa in the third week of this month. Post that, it is believed that the bookings will also open, ahead of launch which was previously expected to take place in November. But, Mayank Pareek, Head of Tata Motors, has revealed that the launch of Hexa will take place in January 2017.

The final production-spec aesthetic packages are same as that we had seen in the concept at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this year – complete with smoked headlamps, glossy black grille and black alloy wheels.

They are also seen to be sporting LED daytime running light strip in the fog lamp enclosures for the top end variants. The entry level variants has black wing mirror housings. It has to be said that both, base and top end variant, have a sporty and imposing road presence which should be received well by the audience.

Tata Hexa is powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine which produces 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque when mated to a 6-speed automatic as well as manual transmission. Once launched, the new Tata SUV will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500.
