Tata Kite hatchback spied with new alloys and Bridgestone tyres

Some external features of the Tata Kite hatchback were revealed when the car was recently spotted near. These include new alloy wheels with 10 spokes and groove in each alternate spoke.

Wheels are shod in 175/65 R14 Bridgestone tyres on steel rims. A refreshed headlamp, a new hood design and new radiator grill is also evident. Tata Kite is based on the XO platform indicating that the hatchback could share a number of parts with the company’s existing range so as to keep price affordable.

Tata Kite hatchback interiors will be inspired by the more premium Tata Bolt. It will receive a new steering wheel and a Harman music system as well. The upcoming hatchback, code named Tata Kite as on date, will be powered by a 1.05 liter three cylinder engine. This engine offers 64.1 bhp power and 140 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Tata Kite hatchback will be offered in petrol and diesel engine variants while the company also plans AMT and CNG variants.

To roll out from Tata Motors Sanand plant in December 2015 (launch by January 2016), the Tata Kit will compete with the Maruti Celerio, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and other such rivals while pricing is expected in a range in between INR 3.5 lakhs to INR 4.20 lakhs.
