For the month of January 2016, Honda Cars India has registered sales of 17,135 units in the domestic market. This when compared to company’s sales performance during January 2015, when they posted sales of 18,331 units, is a decline of 6.5%.
Exports too registered a decline. During Jan 2016, HCIL exported 400 cars, as against 1,369 cars exported in Jan 2015. This means exports declined by a massive 70%. Cumulative sales of Honda Cars stood at 17,535 units as against 19,700 units sold in Jan 2015 (decline of 11%).
Dividing the sales further, top performer for Honda Cars during Jan 2016 was City, registering sales of 8,037 units. Next up is Jazz with 4,709, followed by Amaze with 3,471, Mobilio 441 units, Brio 396 units and CR-V 81 units.
Speaking about Tata Motors, they continue to report decline in passenger car sales. For Jan 2016, the company registered sales of 10,728 units as against 13,047 units sold in Jan 2015. This is a decline of 18%.
Highlight for Tata Motors is the increase in sales of the commercial vehicles. For Jan 2016, Tata Motors sold 30,670 units in the domestic market, as against 25,587 units sold in the month of Jan 2015, registering a growth of 20%.
Both Honda Cars India and Tata Motors will be participating at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Honda has confirmed to showcase BR-V Crossover and the new Accord, while Tata Motors will debut the new Zica based sedan, Nexon compact SUV, Hexa crossover, and a range of new commercial vehicles.
