Tata Nexon power figures for Eco, City, Sport driving modes revealed

Tata Nexon diesel sub compact SUV which is offered with multi drive modes, is powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine offering max 108 bhp power and 260 Nm torque.

However this engine’s power and torque figurers vary according to selected driving modes of Eco, City and Sport. You can toggle between different drive modes at the touch of a button. This feature is seen in this segment for the first time. Usually, driving modes are only seen in cars in premium segment.

Speaking about the power and torque output of the Nexon diesel in different modes – In City mode, the engine offers 89 bhp power and 220 Nm torque. In Sport model it offers 108 bhp power and 260 Nm torque while in Eco mode engine output is limited to 69 bhp power and 180 Nm torque. Transmission is taken care by a 6 speed MT.

Tata Nexon petrol gets powered by a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine offering 108 bhp power and 170 Nm torque. It is also offered with multi drive models and engine outputs will be similar to that offered by the diesel engine with torque figures lower that what its diesel counterpart offers. This petrol engine is also mated to a 6 speed MT.

Tata will soon add new variants to the Nexon line-up. This will be in the form of AMT variants, which were showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Expect these to be launched by May 2018.

It will receive creep function and Smart Hill Assist. The Creep function will allow the vehicle to crawl on release of brake pedal and this comes in handy during heavy traffic or during parking. Smart Hill Assist prevents the SUV from rolling back during hill climb in start stop traffic. Mileage will be similar to that of Manual variants.
