Previously, Dark Edition was only made available with Nexon EV Prime, and now is offered with Nexon EV Max with the new 10.25” touchscreen
Since Tata Motors unveiled the Nexon EV, there has been a paradigm shift in Indian electric car market. Tata Motors launched a version with a larger 40.5 kWh battery called Nexon EV Max. It also has a number of added extras that justify the extra price.
However, Tata Motors hadn’t launched a Dark Edition of Nexon EV Max until now. This update brings a host of new features to regular variants of Nexon EV Max. It is offered only with the top of the line XZ+ Lux variant. Nexon EV Max Dark Prices are Rs 19.04 lakh for standard charger option and Rs 19.54 lakh for the 7.2 kW fast charger option. All prices are ex-sh.
Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Launched
As of now, Nexon EV Max is available in Daytona Grey, Intensi-Teal and Pristine White. Nexon EV Max Dark Edition is based on top-spec XZ Plus Lux trim (with and without a fast charger). The blue accents in humanity line, side belt line, and rear ‘X’ insignia are now in Black. Blue elements are limited to lower tri-arrow pattern grille, front and rear fog lamp garnishes and EV badges only. A #Dark badge is found on its front fenders and is embroidered in seat headrests too.
Speaking of seats, they are leatherette seats finished in black, complementing its black headliner. New alloy wheels finished in Grey, are part of this package as well. These wheels are similar to Nexon EV Prime Dark Edition.
New Larger Touchscreen From Harrier & Safari Red Dark
The main addition to Nexon EV Max Dark Edition is the new 10.25″ touchscreen infotainment system. This is a much crisper display in terms of resolution. Also, it features a much slicker user interface as well. It has a three-part layout, aiding in multi-tasking as well. This head unit supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly. In comparison to the 7” sluggish unit, this comes off as vastly superior. This same touchscreen unit is also part of Harrier and Safari Red Dark Edition and upcoming Altroz Racer.
Unlike the aforementioned vehicles, Nexon EV Max Dark Edition doesn’t feature the same 7″ fully digital instrument cluster. Instead, it retains the analog-digital instrument cluster it had before. This is still better than the ICE Nexon’s instrument cluster which is shared with Tiago and Tigor.
Nexon EV Max Dark Edition gets a slew of features and creature comforts including a sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, rear disc brakes, cruise control and lot more. The 40.5 kWh battery enables 453 km of claimed range. Charger options include regular 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW options. Nexon EV Prime is priced in the range of Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh while the Nexon EV Max range is priced from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 19.54 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “The Nexon EV is India’s #1 EV and in a short span has been loved and trusted by over 50,000 customers, making it the flagbearer of India’s EV evolution.
