Tata Safari Storme facelift will continue to be powered by a 2.2 liter four cylinder VariCOR diesel engine tweaked to offer 150 PS power at 4,000 rpm as against 140 PS seen on its earlier counterpart, while torque figures remain at 320 Nm at 1,700 – 2,700 rpm, mated to a five speed manual transmission. Improvements on the facelift will include a new self adjusting clutch slated to last longer than the conventional clutch seen on its current model.

Tata Safari Storme facelift will sport a honeycomb mesh grille, a redesigned front bumper and distinctive headlamps and fog lamps, while new LED lights will be evident at the rear. Interiors now feature jump seats in the third row instead of side facing seats are one of its prominent changes. Upholstery will be in a two toned effect while interiors will also boast of a redesigned centre console with integrated music system.

A multi function three spoke steering wheel is similar to the new Tata cars, like Zest and Bolt, while the dashboard receives new silver accents. Tata Safari Storme facelift receives a Harman music system equipped with CD/MP3/AUX-in/Bluetooth while its large touchscreen unit is also seen on the updated Tata Aria.

Tata Motors is expected to price the new Safari Storme facelift aggressively between INR 10-14 lakhs, so as to compete head on with the new Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Maruti ACross (SCross Crossover).
