After winning to supply 10,000 units of Tata Tigor electric to the Govt of India, Tata Motors today announced that their Tigor EV has now been deployed in Pune for commercial use. This has been exclusively done in association with Zoomcar. The first batch of Tigor EVs were rolled out today. A total of 500 electric Tigor sedans will be rolled out across 20 Indian cities in 1 year.
Commenting on the partnership, Greg Moran, CEO, Zoomcar said, “The Zoomcar team is thrilled to partner with Tata Motors to bring electric vehicles to Pune. This marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership within electric mobility and we expect to touch 20 cities and 500 electric vehicles with Tata over the next year.”
Tata Tigor electric sports dual front airbags, wheel covers, manual central locking system and power windows at the front and rear. It also receives speed sensitive door locks along with a central lock with auto lock feature. In terms of infotainment it gets a Harman system with four speakers, AM/FM, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. To mark its electric stance, it gets blue accents around its exterior makeup. The Tigor EV measures 3,992mm in length, 1,677mm in width and 1,537mm in height. It gets 165mm of ground clearance and 2,450mm long wheelbase.
The Tata Tigor EV is powered by a 30 kW electric motor and a 216 Ah battery pack. Fast charging facility is possible with 80 percent of change achieved in 90 minutes, offering a range of 130 km and a top speed of 100 kmph.
