Tiger Woods is Hero Motocorp’s first Global Corporate Partner
Tiger Woods said his association with Hero MotoCorp is exciting and lets him be involved with two-wheelers, and Pawan Munjal and Hero MotoCorp’s vision. He shares this vision too, and the collaboration is important to him. He appreciates Hero sponsoring Hero World Challenge that benefits Woods’ foundation. Tiger Woods’ new role greatly expands this worldwide relationship.
Hero MotoCorp is a partner to Tiger Woods Foundation to be Title Sponsor of ‘Hero World Challenge’. At present, Hero MotoCorp sells its motorbikes and scooters in 20 countries across Asia, Africa and South and Central America. HMCL will enter Europe in 2015 and US and Brazil by 2016. By 2020, Hero looks to expand its footprint to 50 countries and targets annual combined sales volume of 12 million units, by which time, Hero should surpass a cumulative sales milestone 100 million two-wheelers.
16th-annual Hero World Challenge is being held at Isleworth Golf & Country Club between December 3-7, 2014. 18 of PGA TOUR’s best players will compete for a top prize of $3.5 million. Hero World Challenge will see marquee players Billy Horschel, Bubba Watson, Chris Kirk, Graeme McDowell, Henrik Stenson, Hideki Matsuyama, Hunter Mahan, Justin Rose, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, Keegan Bradley, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler, Steve Stricker, and defending champion Zach Johnson, alongwith Tiger Woods.
Recently, Hero MotoCorp has stepped in as title sponsor of the premier India Super League. The two wheeler bigwig is also Title Sponsor of Hero Hockey India League. A keen golfer himself, Pawan Munjal is the Past Chairman of Asian PGA Tour Board of Directors and Past President of Professional Golfers Association of India (PGAI). HMCL hosts the annual Hero Indian Open for men and women. A partner to FIH (apex body of global hockey), Hero was title sponsorfor men’s hockey World Cup held in New Delhi in 2010. The same year, HMCL was a partner to Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 and Presenting Partner of Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR).
