Maruti WagonR sales appear to have improved by leaps. However, there is a reliable explanation for this. Since the new gen WagonR was to be launched around this time last year, sales of the old gen WagonR was restricted in December of 2018. As such, the company only sold 2,540 units then. December 2019 sales are reported at 10,781 units.
In the end of year round up, Hyundai the only other manufacturer to get on the list has two offerings. Hyundai Venue, its top seller was not in the market this time last year. In December 2019, 9,521 units were sold.
Maruti Brezza is back on the top spot, as the No 1 selling SUV in India. For the previous two months, it was Kia Seltos which was on top spot. But for Dec 2019, Kia Seltos sales have declined to below 5k units. Maruti S-Presso, MSIL’s newest offering saw 8,394 takers. With its assortment of small cars, MSIL continues to patch up the same mould over and over again.
