Toyota Urban Cruiser bookings are ongoing, and launch is scheduled for next month
Essentially, a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, this is the 2nd product from Toyota that shares a platform with MSIL. The first being Toyota Glanza based on Maruti Baleno. No surprise that features, and looks are familiar.
No doubt both vehicle look same / similar but one can spot redesigned elements, including the front bumper and fog lamp encasing. Front redesign elements are necessary to ensure both vehicles wear a distinctive look.
Urban Cruiser gets power from a 1.5l, 4 Cyl petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission (AT) options. All AT variants feature advanced Li-on with ISG mild hybrid system. This assists with torque (delivering better acceleration), regenerative braking, and idle start/stop.
Last week, brochure of the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser revealed all the details like colour options, features, etc. Now more details have been revealed, regarding the variants and its respective features.
Base Variant is the Mid Variant
There is no base variant on offer with Toyota Urban Cruiser. The range starts with mid variant. This variant sports a dual tone interior, and rain pattern dark brown fabric seats. Exterior features include a 2 slat wedge cut front grille with chrome and grey finish. The steel wheel comes with full wheel cover.
LED inputs include LED Chamber, projector headlamp with chrome accents. The front setup includes dual function LED DRL and turn indicator in headlamp housing. The tail end features split LED rear combination lamps, and a rear spoiler with LED high mount stop lamp. Exterior colour choices include Sunny White, Iconic Grey, Suave Silver, Rustic Brown, Spunky Blue, and Groovy Orange.
Convenience features include smart entry with engine push start / stop button, and auto air conditioning. Infotainment package includes MP3 / AM / FM / CD / Bluetooth / USB / Aux-in audio with remote control. Mid Variant is High Variant
The higher variant features alloy wheels with a black centre cap. The infotainment system in this variant includes a 17.78 cm Smart Playcast touchscreen audio with MP 3 / AM / FM / Bluetooth / USB / Aux-In Smartphone Connect [Android Auto and Apple Carplay], and smartphone based navigation. Cruise control is also on offer and the button is steering mounted.
Top Variant is Premium Variant
Premium variant is fitted with alloy wheels with a diamond cut centre cap, and front LED foglamps. Exterior colour options widen to include 3 dual tone combinations. Total colour variations for premium variant are Sunny White, Iconic Grey, Suave Silver in mono-tone, and Rustic Brown with Sizzling Black Roof, Spunky Roof with Sizzling Black Roof, Groovy Orange with Sunny White Roof in dual-tone. Other comfort features include auto IRVMs and auto rain sensing wipers.
