Triumph Motorcycles India sales at 1300 units for 2014, global sales at 54,432

Introduced in the country a little over a year ago in November 2013, Triumph Motorcycles India has its presence in 10 major cities with 12 models in its line-up. Triumph bikes span 5 motorcycling categories of classics, cruisers, roadsters, adventure and super sports, and the past year has been outstanding where sales were concerned, both in India and in Brazil.

The luxury brand also recorded highest sales figures in 30 years, showing a 4.5% YoY increase in unit sales. Gross turnover stood at £364 million (Rs 3,400 crores or $552 million) with global sales of 54,432 units as against 52,000 units in the preceding year.

In India, Triumph Motorcycles was launched on 28th of November 2013. Till date, they have introduced models such as Bonneville, Street Triple, Daytona 675R, Speed Triple, Tiger 800XC, Thunderbird Storm, Rocket III, Bonneville T100, Thruxton and Tiger 1200, all priced between INR 5.7 lakhs to INR 17.9 lakhs. It is noted as being India’s fastest growing luxury two wheeler premium brand and as on date have 8 fully functioning dealerships across major cities in the country.

Triumph Motorcycles was established in 1902. It has 28 models sold worldwide from its total of 745 dealerships in 57 countries. The company employees around 2,000 personnel with operations in UK, America, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Benelux, Brazil, Indonesia and India while its manufacturing units are based in Hinckley, Leicestershire and Thailand and assembly facilities in India and Brazil.
