TVS Apache RTR 200 FI, ABS launch teaser was in fact for something else
The range-topping version of Apache 200 comes with FI, ABS and optional Pirelli tyres.
Earlier this week, TVS Motor Company’s Facebook page shared a teaser image with the title ‘Something Exciting is Coming Your Way!’ The teaser image had a Apache 200 featured, this led us to believe that they are in fact going to launch the Apache 200 with FI and ABS.
What added to the belief was the fact that earlier this year TVS had confirmed on facebook that they will launch the much awaited Apache 200 FI ABS in the 3rd quarter of 2017. Considering that September is the last month of the 3rd Quarter, the teaser was most likely for the launch of Apache 200 FI ABS.
In addition to that, they have also launched a new site (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200-abs) for Apache FI ABS, which is different than the standard Apache 200 Carb site (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200). All this pointed towards the launch of Apache 200 FI ABS. But that is not the case.
What was the teaser for?
Sadly, all these indications were not pointing towards the launch of new Apache 200 FI ABS. TVS Motor Company has updated their facebook page with a new post which announces the launch of a new website – The official TVS Motor Company blog – https://www.tvsmotor.com/blog/. Some of the TVS fans, who were also awaiting for a bike launch, expressed their displeasure in the comments.
Its been a long wait. First announced back in January 2016, the TVS Apache RTR 200 FI with ABS is yet to be launched in India. There is no exact reason as to why the launch has been delayed. It could be because of high demand for Apache 200 in export markets. Considering only the ABS+FI variant is exported, TVS is catering to the export demand as of now. Implementation of BS4 could have also resulted in delay.
