Its been a long wait. First announced back in January 2016, the TVS Apache RTR 200 FI with ABS is all set to launch in the coming days. The official Facebook page of TVS Motor, has released a teaser image of the Apache 200 with the title ‘Something Exciting is Coming Your Way!”

Back in May this year, TVS had revealed that the Apache 200 FI with ABS will be launched by 3rd quarter of 2017. With this new teaser image now issued to fans, it seems that finally TVS is ready to launch the fully loaded Apache 200. They have also launched a new site (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200-abs) for Apache FI ABS, which is different than the standard Apache 200 Carb (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200).

The reason for delay in launch of FI – high demand for Apache 200 in export markets and the implementation of BS4. Considering only the ABS+FI variant is exported, TVS is catering to the export demand as of now. But with production now increased, and the FI variants are all set for India launch.

Though the difference in output figures is meagre on paper, the FI-equipped engine is smoother and more responsive in real world conditions. It has a better acceleration, and a much smoother performance. In numbers, the Apache 200 with FI does 0-60 kmph in 3.9 seconds, while the one with Carb does it in 3.95 second. 0-100 kmph is achieved in 12 seconds by both motorcycles.
