TVS Radeon 110 cc commuter motorcycle to rival Hero Splendor – Price Rs 48k

Showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo in concept format, the new 110cc bike from TVS Motors is now officially launched in India. Called the Radeon, this new commuter bike which was showcased as a 125cc bike has made its way in with an 110cc engine.

The Radeon comes in with an all new design language and targets a younger segment of customers. It is based on a new chassis and gets single cradle tubular frame. The new TVS Radeon is built for strength, comfort and style – said the company. It sports a headlamp with integrated DRL and chrome bezel, champagne gold engine cover, an plastic padding on tank tank and a long and comfortable seat.

TVS Radeon is powered by the same 110 cc engine, which it will share with the TVS Victor. This 109.7cc single cylinder, 3 valve, air cooled engine offers 9.5 bhp power at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. Ground clearance is 180 mm, tubeless tyres with 18 inch alloys, 10 liter fuel tank. And a USB charging port.

Fuel efficiency is pegged at over 69 kmpl. Radeon comes in with Synchronised Braking technology, which according to the company is a segment first and offers better braking control which also minimizes the risk of skidding. Only drum brakes on offer, no disc brake on offer.

TVS Motors are expected to commence deliveries of the new Radeon from next month and targets sales of 2 lakh units in the first year of launch. It will rival the Hero Splendor in its class which as on date is the largest selling motorcycle in the country.
