Romet 125 adventure motorcycle spied in India

Exclusive spy photos of Romet 125 cc adventure motorcycle have surfaced on the internet. Romet is a Poland based motorcycle and bicycle brand. As per the source, UM is planning to launch Romet 125 adventure in India. The relatively new motorcycle maker is currently in the periphery of the vast Indian motorcycle market but this upcoming model could be its ticket to center stage.

Going by the prototypes, the new adventure tourer would be equipped with long-travel suspension system. Front gets a USD fork, while rear gets monoshock. Thanks to the new safety norms, we can be certain that the production-spec model will be coming with front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.

The adventure tourer is powered by an all new engine. This will be a 125 cc single cylinder mill, which will deliver 10.6 hp at 7500 rpm and 9.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. The transmission is a 5-speed unit. The powertrain to improve low-end torque output for the adventure tourer application.

It has a kerb weight of 138 kgs, and a top speed of 90 kmph. It measures 2090 mm in length, 865 mm in width, and 1205 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1370 mm. Front tyres are 100/80-17, while rear are 120/80-17. Front has a 265 mm disc, while rear has 240 mm disc. It gas a 14 liter fuel tank and claims 45 kmpl mileage.

The compact displacement adventure tourer segment in India has been inaugurated by the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is now joined by BMW G310GS. Sooner than later, the KTM 390 Adventure and Hero Xpulse 200 will also enter the fray.

Considering that the steeply priced German motorcycle has created enough excitement in the new sub-segment, a new adventure tourer with very attractive price tag could emerge as a very tempting proposition to the prospective customers. Expect prices in the region of Rs 1.5 lakhs.
