Mahindra and Mahindra, leading SUV makers in India, have been actively testing the facelifted XUV500 which will launch in India today, on April 18, 2018. The SUV has been detailed and engine specifications have been leaked and more details will come to the fore on its official launch in the country.
In the meantime, company dealerships are keen to clear out stocks of the older XUV500 and are hence offering discounts to the extent of INR 82,000.
These discount schemes include a cash discount of INR 52,000 along with benefits in terms of underbody coating and accessories worth INR 30,000. This special offer is on all variants of the current XUV500.
The new XUV500 facelift will see a host of new features and more powerful engine lineup as compared to its outgoing counterpart. These will include a new bumper design, headlamps with projectors and DRLs and dual tone bash plate.
The rear end also gets updated with vertical tail lamps and a new tailgate design. Two new color schemes of Mystic Copper and Crimson Red have also been added to the existing palate. Interiors also receive a more premium stance with touchscreen infotainment system, soft touch material, tan colored leather seats and new smartwatch app via Bluetooth.
The engine is also updated and the XUV500 facelift gets its power via a 2.2 liter engine offering 155 PS power and 360 Nm torque between 1,750-2,800 rpm up from 140 PS power and 330 Nm torque offering on its current model. This boost in power is due to the new 6th generation turbo with eVGT technology.
