At the start of this year, Maruti Suzuki India had revealed that they will launch at least 3 new cars this year. 2017 Maruti Ciaz will be among these three new launches planned by the company. Spied on test, the images reveal that the updated Ciaz will receive some exterior and interior updates along with new features.
The Ciaz test mule which was spotted in Delhi, bore some minor camouflage but several new features were evident. These included alloy wheels, a new body color, front fog lamps and new LED DRL strips. The trunk lid was devoid of DDiS and SHVS badges indicating that the car is likely to get a petrol engine. Lower portion of rear bumper sported black tape to hide its rear reflectors while fog lamps in front were also hidden from view.
Some interior modifications were also evident in the form of a new instrument panel with chrome surrounds on gauges. It also receive new speedometer and tachometer needles and it is estimated that there is a wood trim on dashboard which was under camouflage.
In terms of features, Ciaz will continue to receive features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, parking sensors and safety features among which are dual airbags, ABS and EBD. It can also get auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Engine options continue to be same as before. Price too can be expected to be same as before.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been continually updating the Ciaz, giving it a fresh look each time. This has helped the company to climb the ladder in the segment. When Ciaz was launched, it was behind Hyundai Verna and Hond City in sales. Today, it is the no 1 in the segment. With this new update, Maruti plans on staying ahead post the launch of new generation Verna.
