The addition of a manual transmission option with GT Plus trim of Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun makes a well-rounded variant lineup
Virtus and Taigun are part of Skoda VW’s INDIA 2.0 program along with Kushaq and Slavia. The program intends to create a premium car experience for India and the MQB A0 IN platform has proved its mettle by scoring 5 stars crash rating from GNCAP across the range. Now, Volkswagen intends to push its sales envelope by introducing new variants and colour options.
The GT Plus trim level got a sole 1.5L TSI engine with a 7-speed DSG. Now, manual variants are part of the package too. They are likely to cater to enthusiasts looking for more involvement and driving pleasure. The manual variants establish a lower price point as well. Drawing in more customers than it did before.
Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Updates
The aforementioned manual variants are part of both Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV. On top of it, GT trim now gets the DSG option with Taigun. Virtus sedan previously had six variants, now there are seven. Taigun got seven variants (excluding limited editions), and now there are nine. A Lava Blue shade will be a part of all Virtus and Taigun variants, recently offered with Skoda Slavia and Kushaq.
The Black wheels and Red brake calipers are kept the same. Interiors get a choice between Rave Glossy and Dark Red Glossy shades. Virtus was the only vehicle in the INDIA 2.0 program to lack the 1.5L TSI MT combo. Volkswagen filled that gap. Prices for all the new variants will be revealed soon.
VW GT Edge Collection
Volkswagen will introduce GT Edge collection with Virtus and Taigun in June 2023. It will be available with both manual and DSG gearbox choices with a 1.5L TSI engine. GT Edge is a limited production run. It features Deep Black Pearl shade with Virtus and Taigun and Carbon Steel Matte shade with Taigun. More info will be divulged in June 2023.
Taigun Trail Concept and Sport Concept
