In the past, Volvo has had three cars in this size on offering – S40 saloon, V50 estate and C30 three door coupe. Despite having these cars, Volvo did not see much sales as it did not possess a five door hatchback. It is here that the new V40 comes into the picture. The car will be well equipped and even the entry level ES model will have self braking City Safe technology and pedestrian airbag.
