The new compact sedan from VW India, is set to be officially unveiled on the 2nd February 2016, a day before the largest automotive show in the country kicks-off. In the making for over two years, the new VW compact sedan is built at an investment of INR 720 crores.
Production of the car has already commenced at VW India’s plant in Chakan near Pune. Once unveiled in Delhi early next month, launch of this new VW car will take place throughout the country.
Based on same platform as the Polo and Vento, Volkswagen claims that this is the first ever made for India VW (what was Vento then?). Anyways, they are atleast not as clueless as their colleagues.

To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, new VW compact sedan has been spied on multiple occasions in the last few weeks. Spy shots reveal the new car featuring parts from the Polo / Vento.
Apart from sharing parts, this new sedan will also feature a similar set of engines which are seen on offer with Polo / Vento. These will be the 1.2 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel. Transmission options on offer will be 5 speed MT as standard while there is a possibility of a GT TSI variant with 7 speed DSG.
To be placed in between the Polo and Vento, rumors suggest it will either be called Bora, or Ameo. What is the actual name, we will only know on 2nd February. Stay tuned to Rushlane as we bring you LIVE coverage of the event from Delhi.
