First showcased in December 2015 along with 9 other VW cars, the new Allstar edition celebrates the upcoming 2016 UEFA European Championship which will be held in France from June 10 to July 10.
Of the 9 cars which are on offer, India is set to get one of them – VW Polo Allstar edition. What seperates the VW Polo Allstar edition from the existing Polo, is a series of upgrades and new features.
Such as – distinctive ALLSTAR badging will be seen across B-Pillars, fender and also on sill plates, new alloy wheel design and revised fog lamps. Exclusive to the European version, VW Polo Allstar edition will receive a special winter package with headlight washers, heated windshield washer nozzles and heated front seats. These features will not be on offer with the India-spec Volkswagen Polo Allstar edition.
VW Polo Allstar edition will be powered by a 1.5 liter TDI diesel engine as seen on the Volkswagen Polo. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On board the AllStar, it could also get a 7 speed DSG.
Showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in February, the Allstar was presented with a 1.0 liter TSI engine and 6 MT gearbox while offering fuel efficiency of 23.26 kmpl and auto emissions at 99 g/km according to the European test cycle.
