Set to compete with the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Maruti Ciaz and Honda City once launched in India, the 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift will be seen with minor design changes on its exterior.
Spied completely undisguised in Russia, where it is sold as Polo sedan, 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift is seen with a new triple slat chrome grille, lower set badge and a flatter bonnet. The front bumper sports new fog light enclosures while rear bumper will also sees some minor changes. Interior layout remains unchanged, but we expect it to feature new upholstery and colours.
Volkswagen Vento Facelift will not see any changes in mechanics and will continue to be powered by 1.2 and 1.6 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engines. The 1.5 liter TDI will produce 105 PS power at 4,400 rpm and 250 Nm torque at 1,500-2,500 rpm. Gearbox options will include a 5 speed manual and 7 speed DSG. The 1.2 liter TSI turbo petrol engine and 1.5l diesel will be mated to a 7 speed DGS while the 1.6 liter petrol will be mated to a 5 speed manual.
Manufactured only in Russia and India, the Volkswagen plant in India will act as an export hub to countries such as Middle East, Africa, Latin America and South East Asia. Expected prices on launch in India just in time to take advantage of increased sales during the festive season, could be in the range of INR 7.5-10.5 lakhs.
