Yamaha R15 V3 gets the predator look thanks to custom wrap – Video

With its nifty styling, good performance and competitive pricing, Yamaha R15 V3.0 has been registering decent sales since its launch. For people who want a more personalized experience, R15 also serves as an appropriate bike for customizations. In one such project, R15 has acquired a menacing character with addition of custom wrapping and projector units. Custom wrapped R15 is Mumbai’s first such project and certainly one of the best we have seen so far.

In the usual setup, bike modifiers carry out customizations for their clients. However, in this case, the R15 owner himself is a wrap artist. This naturally guaranteed that the job was executed to perfection. Modified Yamaha R15 V3 looks absolutely stunning with its quirky wrap design and glowing corona rings placed below the LED headlamps.

Blue is the core theme chosen for this mod job, as can be seen with the blue-coloured wrap and projector units. Wrap has been used on the front section, fairing, fuel tank, and tail section. Blue coloured stickers have been added on the sides of the alloy wheels, which further enhances the bike’s visual appeal. Blue theme renders a striking and interesting contrast with the black stock elements, which looks quite attractive. Video is credit to youtube channel Ride With The Blue.

As compared to other mod jobs where a lot of parts are removed or replaced, this project is relatively simpler. Nonetheless, the bike has significantly improved its style and attractiveness, all while retaining the true essence of R15’s stock design. The entire project has been executed flawlessly and nothing seems out of place.

R15 V3 is one of the bikes that have turned out to be a successful product for Yamaha in India. Inspired by R1, Yamaha R15 V3.0 features a big visor, redesigned fairing, split seats, and clip-on handlebar. The bike has an aggressive seating position and comes with rear-set footpegs. Instrument cluster is fully digital and displays a wide variety of information such as trip meter, fuel consumption, time, etc.

International-spec R15 V3.0 has USD forks, but in India, the bike features standard telescopic forks. A mono-suspension unit is installed at the rear. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. Powering the R15 is a 155.1 cc single cylinder engine that generates max power of 19.3 hp and max torque of 14.7 Nm. Engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
