New Yamaha R15 V3, Suzuki GSX150R and Honda CBR 150R (not the one old model which is on sale in India) are the three hottest motorcycles in the 150cc segment today, all of which made debut in the Indonesian market. Of the three, only one of them is launched, while the other two (R15 V3 and GSX150R are scheduled for launch in the coming weeks). Of the three, only Yamaha R15 V3 is confirmed for launched in India, which will take place by Diwali 2017.
New Honda CBR150R was launched in Indonesia about a year back in Indonesia at a starting price of , while the other two were just recently unveiled in the country. To be launched soon in Indonesia, the other two bikes are equipped and more powerful. Here is a short on paper comparison between the three bikes.
Dimensions
Of the three, Yamaha R15 V3 is the longest, widest and the tallest. It is also the most sportiest looking of the three. Dimensions of R15 V3 stand at 1990 x 725 x 1135 (L x W x H)mm. The same for Honda CBR150R stands at 1983 x 694 x 1038 while that for the Suzuki GSX150R stands at 1975 x 670 x 1070. Seat height of the R15 is tallest at 815 mm followed by CBR at 787 mm and GSX150R at 785 mm.
Speaking about fuel tank, Honda CBR150R has the biggest at 13.2 liters capacity, followed by that of Suzuki at 12 liters and Yamaha at 11 liters. All three bikes get front and rear disc brakes, while ABS is not on offer. All three get 17 inch alloys while front tyre size is same for all three at 100/80. Rear tyre size for Yamaha and Honda is same at 140/70 while that for Honda is 140/60.
Equipment and Instrumentation
All three, Yamaha R15 V3, Suzuki GSX 150R and Honda CBR150R get a digital instrument cluster which displays speedometer, tachometer, time, fuel level, etc. In addition to this, the Yamaha is the only one which gets slipper clutch and clutch assist, giving it a superior advantage over the other two.
Engine & Price
Yamaha R15 V3 is powered by a 155 cc engine, while Honda gets a 149 cc and Suzuki gets a 147 cc. Power output of the R15 V3 is highest at 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm followed by 18.45 PS at 10,000 rpm of the GSX150R and 17.1 PS at 9000 rpm of Honda CBR150R. Yamaha also delivers the most torque at 14.7 Nm @ 8500 rpm, followed by 13.8 Nm @ 8500 rpm of Suzuki and 13.7 Nm @ 7000 rpm of Honda.
With only the Honda CBR150R launched of the three, price of the same starts from IDR 32.5 million (INR 1.65 lakh) while top end variant with Repsol Honda MotoGP livery costs IDR 33.3 million (INR 1.68 lakh). Yamaha R15 V3 and Suzuki GSX150R are expected to be priced in the same range, once they are officially launched in the coming days.
