Valentino Rossi launches Yamaha Xabre (M-Slaz) 150 cc bike in Indonesia

The aggressively styled Yamaha Xabre (called as M-Slaz in Thailand) premium 150 cc street fighter has been launched in Indonesia by the company’s MotoGP star Valentino Rossi. The bike is priced at 29.8 million Indonesian rupiah (INR 1.46 lakhs) on the road.

The Xabre shares its platform with the fully faired R15 V2.0 but features fresh and edgy design, upside down front shocks and a fully digital instrument console. Positioned below its fully faired sibling, the Xabre would be luring young urban riders with its compact dimensions and upright riding stance.

The familiar 150 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine employs electronic fuel injection system to pump out 16.32 PS at 8,500 rpm and 14.3 Nm of torque 7,500 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The compact yet intimidating Yamaha street fighter measures 1,959 mm in length, 795 mm in width 1,065 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,350 mm. The ground clearance and saddle height stand at 164 mm and 805 mm respectively. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 10.2 litres. A light kerb weight of 135 kg should make for a sprightly performance.

The Yamaha Xabre sits on 110/70-17 front and 130/70-17 tyres while the stopping power comes from a disc brake at each wheel. The bike is available in matte black, matte grey and silver color options.

Considering that Yamaha India already has not one, not two, but nine 150 cc models/variants in its lineup, the upmarket Xabre is not likely to be making it to our shores.
