Skoda India has delivered 1,700 vehicles to customers in March 2014. When compared with 2,300 vehicles sold in March 2013, last month’s sales equate to 26% sales decline. In fact, Skoda has registered a sales decline here even for the first 2 months of 2014. Skoda India sold 1,600 cars in January 2014 as compared to 2,400 cars in January 2013 equating to 32.5% sales decline. In February, Skoda India sold 1,300 vehicles. When compared to 1,800 cars sold in 2013 February, this equates to 28.2% sales decline.

Skoda Octavia Estates also serves as Tour de France’ official lead car to offer riders assistance through cycling routes. Support vehicles transport equipment, support personnel and offer cyclists a lift back to event HQ.
Triple British kitesurfing champion, Hannah Whiteley is now using a Volkswagen California SE camper van as a home-away-from-home while she trains and competes around UK. The California SE ensures she can carry her all her equipment when outdoors. She commutes over an hour each way to her closest practice spot in Lytham, Northwest England. The camper van will hemp her set up basecamp at the beach while she’s out in the water.
International Road Federation (IRF) welcomes Delhi government’s move to amend the motor vehicle Act 1993 to improve safety of women pillion riders on two wheelers. The move to make it mandatory to wear helmets for better and safer roads is applauded by the IRF world wide forum. Wearing a helmet is compulasry for women in Punjab and Chandigarh unless she wears a turban/patka. Sikh women wearing religious head gear (patka/turban) need not wear a helmet.

The Automotive Consumer Insights (ACI) report “The Connected Car: Consumer Interest and Current User Experience” reveals 48% smartphone owners in the US use apps while driving. The number is 37% in Europe and 78% in China.
