900 Saab vehicles up for auction and then there were none

Seems like the now newly purchased bankrupt Saab may be down but not entirely out. There are 900 Saab vehicles lying unclaimed and unused at various ports in New Jersey and California since Saab Cars North America declared bankruptcy. These cars are now slated for auction which will commence next week. Out of these 900 vehicles 300 are expected to make their way exclusively to Saab dealers where they will be sold off for 30% to 50% discounts.

Saab dealers can decide on whether it will be more beneficial to sell these vehicles or to strip them down for their spare parts as they can avail of the first 300 vehicles on offer. The balance 600 may either be exported or used for rentals.

Among these cars up for auction will also be a 1960 Saab Quantum IV and a 1970 Saab Sonnett III, New cars will include 9-3 sedans, 9-3 wagons, 9-4X crossovers and a few convertibles. As these remaining Saab cars move from shipping docks to auction blocks, we know where all attention will be focused as those involved try to buy into the last SAAB cars on offer.
