Indian auto industry sales across vehicle segments on the mend in November 2014: SIAM reveals official data
Indian auto industry production in November 2014 stood at 1,994,248 vehicles (passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers and two wheelers), over 1,774,474 in Nov ’13 equating to 12.39% growth.
Indian auto industry passenger vehicle domestic sales growth is reported at 2.68% in April-November 2014 over the same 8 months last year. In Passenger Vehicles segment, passenger cars and utility vehicle sales growth was 3.82% and 5.24%, respectively. Van sales decline is pegged at 13.70% through April-November 2014.
Overall Commercial Vehicles segment reports 7.27% sales decline through April-November 2014 over the same 8 months last year. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) sales growth is reported at 5.30%, while Light Commercial Vehicles’ sales declined by 12.90%.
Three Wheelers growth is reported at 14.20%. Passenger Carriers and Goods Carriers’ sales growth is reported at 15.49% and 8.46%, respectively in April-November 2014 over April-November 2013.
Two Wheeler sales growth is reported at 11.84% in April-November 2014 over April-November 2013. Scooters, Motorcycles and Mopeds sales growth is reported as 28.19%, 6.58% and 9.84% respectively in April-November 2014 over April-November 2013.
In April-November 2014, overall automobile exports grew by 21.31% over the same period last year. Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers grew by 2.79%, 14.26%, 21.45%, and 27.04% respectively in these 8 months over the same period in 2013.
