Volkswagen Golf 2013 model details were revealed which are sure to get buyers impatient to see the model in its full glory. Volkswagen Golf is predicted will be a lighter GTI variant with new plug in hybrid options. Golf 2013 will be powered by a 243 hp engine offering 40 miles per gallon. Engine capacity will be a 1.8 liter turbo four cylinder taking the place of a 2.5 liter inline five seen in the base model currently available across the US. GTI turbocharged 2.0 liter engine with four cylinders will offer from 200 bhp to 260 bhp.
GTI will come with new electronically controlled front panels which will offer better steering abilities and speeds. Aluminum will also be used in excess contributing to the car’s lighter weight. Car floor, trunk floor and windshield bases will all be in lightweight aluminum. Golf 2013 will be based on the VW’s MQB platform, which is cheaper to produce than what is seen on the current models of UP! and a host of VW, Seat and Skoda models.
VW Golf 2013 has been designed by Walter da Silva – Head of Design at Volkswagen. It shows off sleeker lines and is longer, wider and more spacious than the current model in the market. Expect to see the VW Golf 2013 at Paris Auto Show later this year.
