Seen in a bright candy blue exterior paint, Volkswagen Taigun is sure to garner attention of buyers in India. It was seen on display at Auto Expo with a twin split grille in front, a shining headlight cluster, LED lights in front and rear while it sits on 17” alloy wheels. Interiors receive latest of gadgetry, an efficient infotainment system and unmatched comfort features in the segment. The five seater compact SUV is done up in a two toned upholstery.
Engine details on board the upcoming VW Taigun will include a 1.0 liter three cylinder turbo petrol engine offering 108 bhp power and 175 Nm torque, while a diesel engine options is also on the cards once the model is launched in India.
Volkswagen Taigun measures 3859mm in length and is slated to go into production in 2016 when it will compete with Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Maruti’s XA-Alpha and Honda’s compact SUV. Price of Volkswagen Taigun in India could start in the Rs 8-10 lakh range.
