BMW i8 Cyber Edition by Energy Motor Sport wants to be a spaceship
This kitted up BMW i8 Cyber Edition created by Energy Motor Sport is for those who feel that the stock car isn’t futuristic enough. The low-slung sportscar has been modified to create an impression of a spaceship and the outcome is spot on.
Finished in sophisticated matte chrome wrap by P.G.D., the i8 Cyber Edition dons aggressive EVO body kits and custom front and rear bumpers. Sprucing it up further is a set of spectacular 21-inch BBS forged concave wheels which are shod with Pirelli PZero tyres.
If at all there is a disappointment, it has to come form the untouched hardware (not that the stock mechanical bits are potent enough). The i8 Cyber Edition is a purely cosmetic. The interiors have not been detailed, suggesting that nothing has changed on that front.
The plug-in hybrid sportscar is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine which puts out 231 PS and an electric motor which is good for 131 PS. With a combined output of 362 PS, the i8 is capable of accelerating from rest to ton in just 4.4 seconds and has its top-speed electronically limited to 250 kmph. The hybrid engine won the coveted World Engine Of The Year 2015.
