Italian superbike manufacturer will be unveiling their all new superbike, 1199 Panigale next month at the Milan Motor Show. Powered by a V-Twin engine, the new Ducati 1199 Panigale generates a maximum power of 197 bhp @ 10,750 rpm and 98.1 lb-ft torque @ 9,000 rpm, which is a lot for a superbike this size.
Ducati 1199 Panigale is named after their manufacturing unit in the small Italian village of Borgo Panigale. The new Ducati superbike, pays tribute to the manufacturing unit which was setup in the year 1935 and withstood repeated Allied bombings during World War II.
As of now, Ducati is yet to reveal pricing and technical specifications of this monster on two wheels. Ducati is expected to reveal official details once it is unveiled next month at the Milan Motor Show.
Thanks to some Italian magazines, we do have some info about the engine of 1199 Panigale. The engine of the new Ducati superbike is nicknamed ‘ Superquadro’. Compared to other Ducati superbikes, the valves in the V-Twin of 1199 Panigale are larger by 8% and towards the exhaust they are larger by 10%. Valves have been made of titanium and not steel for a better high speed performance.
Ducati 1199 Panigale engine will be the first ever to feature a dual stage fuel injection. Transmission is taken care by a 6 speed gearbox with a greater diameter of gears.
