2014 Audi A8L with Matrix LEDs spotted on test, India launch nears
2014 Audi A8L has been spotted near the ARAI campus in Pune. Featuring Matrix LED headlights, a first of its kind on any car in the world, this will result in the driver driving on high beam all the time but yet not blinding the oncoming driver.
A special camera will detect the oncoming vehicle which in turn results in Matrix system dimming the respective LED’s in that direction, blinding shine on the car up ahead and shuts off completely as and when the car approaches. It is this one feature which will be welcomed in a country like India, where it is a regular and annoying feature to drive with high beams. Audi A8L will also sport new tail lights and revised bumpers.
The upcoming 2014 Audi A8L was spotted with some cosmetic and technological upgrades. It sports the same engine specifications as seen on current variant. Interiors receive a new MMI system with various modifications done to seating while technological and infotainment features are extensive. Though coming in with a host of changes, engine specifications are expected to continue in the form of a 3.0 liter TDI engine, 4.0 TFSI engine while top of the range topping 6.3 liter TFSI W12 petrol engine will also be an option offered on the 2014 Audi A8L with tweaks to ensure added fuel efficiency and lower auto emissions.
