2014 Corvette Stingray, Aston Martin and Lamborghini Aventador Roadster whir

On 19th January, Chevrolet is offering their 1st retail production 2014 Corvette Stingray at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction. The car has a Vehicle Identification Number ending in 0001, and auction proceeds will benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, which offers a noteworthy automotive design program. Richard Hendrick, NASCAR Hendrick Motorsports team owner, and known Corvette collector paid $1.1 million for the first ever stingray.

18th January saw General Motors Chairman and CEO, Dan Akerson’s 1958 Chevrolet Corvette sold by Barrett-Jackson Auctions, where Richard Hendrick paid $270,000. Proceeds benefitted Habitat for Humanity Detroit. He even paid $1 million on a 1968 Owens/Corning L88 Corvette race car.

17th January 2013, marks 60 years since Chevrolet Corvette was displayed at the General Motors’ Motorama show. To commemorate the day, the recently unveiled all-new Corvette Stingray at the 2013 Detrot Auto Show/NAIAS will be shown at the big Apple.

Aston Martin’s centennial celebration on January 15, 2013 also gives buyers a chance to centenary editions of V8 Vantage, DB9, Rapide and Vanquish. The momentous occasion saw them land a 2013 Vanquish atop the Burj Al Arab in Dubai hung from a helicopter. This week will also see the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster unveiling in India.
