India bound 2015 Volkswagen Passat revealed in new sketches
Volkswagen has released first sketches and details of their upcoming midsized sedan – 2015 Passat. To be launched in India next year, new Volkswagen Passat will ride on VW’s MQB platform, which is also seen on board the new Skoda Octavia.
Sketches of the next generation 2015 Volkswagen Passat, reveal a new design, ditching the conservative style seen on its predecessor. The new sleeker and low slung stance of Passat is surely more attractive to look at.
Evident changes include redesigned front fascia and well defined front grille besides aggressive headlights and horizontal fog lights. Its façade brings to mind VW’s CrossBlue Coupe and T-Roc SUV concepts. New Passat’s side profile displays an aerodynamic body with a coupe like design while distinctive wheel arches and dual exhausts are visible. No interior designs were revealed in the sketches, but expect that this eight generation 2015 Passat will receive a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster and new infotainment system.
The next generation Passat will launch with a series of engine having outputs ranging from 128 PS to 280 PS. A plug in variant is also planned for launch in early 2015 which will see a 1.4 liter TSI petrol engine along with an electric motor having output of 102 PS. This will give combined power of 204 PS while the Passat will have a range of 50 km exclusively on electric charge. 2015 Passat will make its debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October.
